Press Release: A Girl You Might Know Foundation Appoints New Board Member, Whitney Bower as Treasurer

Welcome, Whitney Bower to AGYMK!

The A Girl You May Know (AGYMK) Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Whitney Bower as the newest member of its Board of Directors, serving in the role of Treasurer.

While Whitney is stepping into a formal leadership role today, her name is already a significant part of the foundation’s story. Whitney helped our foundation grow from the very beginning, and we are so thankful for her continued support. In fact, AGYMK's very first grantee was granted the ability to protect her brand by trademarking her name—a milestone made possible through the expertise that Whitney has championed throughout her career.

Whitney has been practicing since 2003, focusing on helping people secure their brands by federally protecting their names. This work is essential today as AI-generated deepfakes and constant brand infringement threaten established businesses. In an era where a name is everything, trademark registration is a vital shield that keeps an entrepreneur's identity and hard work from being stolen. These legal protections are especially critical for small business owners and young entrepreneurs, ensuring that large corporations cannot swoop in and take what they have worked so hard to build.

“I owned a creative business for a decade and I know the hard work involved in developing a brand,” said Whitney Bower. “When I grew beyond that business, my obsession became helping others protect theirs.”

As Treasurer, Whitney will oversee the foundation’s financial health, ensuring that AGYMK can continue to provide life-changing grants and support to women looking to build and protect their own legacies. Her unique blend of creative entrepreneurship and brand protection experience makes her an invaluable asset to the board.
